Back to School in Eco-Clean Clothes

September is here and the shops are already clearing out the "back to school" displays that they have been pushing all summer and are turning their thoughts to Christmas. Across the country, children are discarding jeans and shorts in favour of blazers, shirts and mainly grey skirts or trousers. Proud parents are taking photos and reflecting that in just a few days the brand new clothes will be worse for wear and in need of a clean.

Whilst some school clothes now come in handy stain-free cloth, even these won't always stand up to the full rigours of the classroom. So how do you clean school clothes without resorting to very hot water and lots of chemicals?

Typical school stains include ink, paint, and grass. On the basis that prevention is better than cure; our top tip on removing ink stains is to make sure that the pens you give your children don't contain permanent ink. Whilst you can eventually remove permanent ink, it does take time and experiment. Rubbing alcohol, nail varnish remover and hair spray can all work but it is important to try a test patch in a non-visible area such as inside a hem first. Put the garment on a clean absorbent paper towel and dab or spray on the remover. Pat dry with another clean paper towel and repeat until the stain has gone.

For non-permanent ink, repeated rinsing in cold water is the best remedy. Spot cleaning is best as it avoids spreading the stain. Put the garment on an old towel, add water with a sponge and dab the area dry with the towel. Repeat a few times and the ink will transfer to the towel which you can rinse later. Don't use hot water for this as it may set the stain. To remove any residual stubborn stain brush gently with white vinegar.

With paint, the first line of approach is to scrape as much of the paint off as possible using a blunt knife. If the paint is water based then you can remove the remainder in the same way as non-permanent ink. Oil and acrylic paints can be treated in the same way as permanent ink. Remember to test a patch first.

For grass stains a mixture of cold water and white vinegar works well. As grass is effectively a dye you may need to attack residual stains by making up a solution of baking soda and rubbing it into the stain using an old toothbrush. Rinse well with cold water and the stains should have vanished.

So, with the application of a few standard household products, you can send your children off to school safe in the knowledge that you are ready to cope with whatever state their clothes return in.

Glow Bracelets Keep Kids Safe at Night

During the warmer months of the year, it doesn't become dark until later in the evening, so kids are allowed to play outside much later than usual. It can be nerve-wracking to let your kids go out in the evening or at night, but there are ways that you can ensure their safety without being overbearing.

Glow bracelets are the perfect way that you can ensure your child's safety when they are out and about during the night. The most obvious reason is because the glowing light from the bracelets will allow the wearer to be seen in the evening and at night. Of course, this puts them in less danger of being struck by a car or other vehicle. There are a couple of ways that a child could wear these glow bracelets. There is the obvious way of just having them around their wrist. This works quite well in the summer when they may be wearing short-sleeve tops, but it can be a bit pointless in the winter when their arms are covered by sweaters and big jackets. If they have a school bag, the glow bracelets can very easily be looped around the handles of the bag or anywhere else where there is a hole small enough to loop it through. There may even be parts of the child's jacket from which the bracelets can be hung. Generally speaking, it is usually best to have one or two bracelets or sticks on the back of the child, as well as one or two on the front of the child. This way, they will be visible from all angles.

Glow bracelets and glow sticks do serve another purpose - to be used as a guiding light. This is particularly helpful if there are dark areas in which the child has to walk through to get home. The items are much lighter and cheaper than a flashlight with batteries, so they are perfect tools to help children see in the dark. The light up products are also more convenient because they can be attached to the child's clothes or accessories, so there is no risk of the child dropping them or forgetting them.

Cool Glow is a leading provider of glow sticks, glow bracelets, and glow necklaces.

Coming Of Age Ceremonies As Preventive Medicine!

I have a confession to make:

When I saw Dr. Christiane Northrup's post on Facebook I was dumbfounded...

Following my guest appearance on her radio show, Dr. Northrup wrote about my work of mentoring girls into womanhood: "Preventive medicine at its finest!"

The reason this statement was such a mind-quake for me, is that for the two decades in which I've been working with women on welcoming themselves and their daughters into womanhood, I have been so immersed in seeing the profound emotional transformation this work provides, that I missed the obvious: its health benefits...

I've learned from Dr. Northrup that 55% of hysterectomies result in the removal of ovaries, which produces 5 times greater incidents of mental health diseases, such as Depression and Parkinson disease (to name but a couple) as a result of losing the hormonal balance of the ovaries.

Furthermore, syndromes such as PMS, and ailments such as cervix cancer, can be directly attributed to how a woman views her cycle, her womb, and her femininity.

Prevention begins with honoring:

When women honor their monthly flow and the cycle of life; when they acknowledge their physical connection to lunar and seasonal cycles; when they embrace their monthly blood as the blood of life - they increase immunity in their bodies!

Which body do you think is more likely to be resilient and immune to disease:
a body whose mind sees menstruation as bother, nuisance, or "the curse", or the one whose mind embraces menstruation as an opportunity to withdraw from the mundane and delve into inner wellsprings for monthly renewal and regeneration?

Let me state the obvious: seeing your menstruation as a curse pre-disposes you to ailments, while doing the necessary work toward embracing your cycle is "preventive medicine at it's finest!"

Gladly, prevention extends to your daughter's health as well!

Adolescent girls are desperate to individuate from their nuclear family and bond with their peers. "But," says Dr. Northrup, "and I want everyone to please burn this into your heart: the influence of the mother always wins!!!" This is actually great news, since it means that YOUR influence on your daughter is greater than that of her peers!

With this knowledge comes responsibility: It is up to You to model empowering womanhood to your girl!

In the same way that modeling hatred of your period will pre-dispose your girl to disease, so your work on reversing "the curse" by reclaiming menstruation as the blessing that it is, will expose your daughter to a life-long belief system, and practice, that is not only empowering, but preventive in nature!

Coming-Of-Age ceremonies to welcome yourself into womanhood (regardless of your age) and to welcome your daughter (when she starts cycling) are the best antidote for a life fraught with PMS, sexual insecurities, mental health disorders, and physical disease.

You, as a woman or a mother, can orchestrate such shifts of consciousness for your own, and your daughter's, benefit!

Is your daughter approaching puberty? Is she already there?

Bed Bug 101 - The Truth About Bed Bugs

Bed bug is the common name for Cimex lectularius, a reddish-brown, oval-shaped insect that can grow to a quarter of an inch long. Bedbugs are wingless and survive by sucking blood from a host, preferably a human host.

Why are they called bedbugs?

Bedbugs can hide in mattresses, carpets, behind peeling wallpaper and in crevices in wooden furniture such as a bed's headboard. The bugs are nocturnal and will typically bite people while they sleep.

Why are bedbug numbers increasing?

Bed bugs were almost eradicated with broad-spectrum pesticides during the 70's and 80's. Concerns about health and the environment led to many of these pesticides being removed from the market. Other reasons for the recent increase in numbers are increased overseas travel, recycling of furniture, central heating of homes, decline in conditions in communal accommodation, and poor recognition of bedbugs. a recent study conducted by the university of Sheffield showed that only 10% of people who took part in the study could correctly identify a bedbug.

Where do bedbugs come from?

Bedbugs are great travelers and are very comfortable stowing away in luggage or clothing. Bedbugs can be picked up in hotels hostels waiting rooms even public transport.in fact any high traffic area is susceptible.

What can you do to avoid bedbugs?

Bedbugs are large enough to see. Look particularly under the mattress and in and around the bed frame, check cracks behind peeling wallpaper. Check in the cracks of any wooden furniture.

What should you do if you are bitten by bedbugs?

Bedbugs will bite exposed skin and leave behind small, red marks but this is not always the case around 60% of people will not react to a single bite. The damage from a bedbug bite is usually more emotional than physical. If you are exposed to bed bugs call a bed bug specialist to undertake a safe and effective treatment.

Generation Gap Amongst Parents and Children

Generation gap is common amongst most of the parents and their children in the family. This often results in poor or lack of communication between the parent and the child. Children often feel that their parents do not understand them and hence do get agitated and show aggressive behavior.

The fact of the matter is that parents are the best friends that children can have. They are next only to god in the eyes of children. Who does the child have other than the parents. They look up to parents as their biggest security factor in their life.

The most precious thing for every child is to be loved and supported without judgment. Parents do this for the child and stand by them irrespective of any shortcomings or mistakes. Children confide in parents with the belief and confidence that they will not be reprimanded or punished. This emotional security is very important for every child.

When teenagers exhibit aggressive behavior, there is always an underlying need and asking for attention from parents. They are unable to communicate their feelings and need and often-such attempts end up in miscommunication and lead to verbal battles.

Growing up pains and adjusting to the outside world often is the underlying cause of the emotional vulnerability in children. They often project stronger front on the outside while being over sensitive on the inside.

One way to keep growing children away from troubles is to make the home environment so lively and open that they should prefer to spend time at home rather than outside. To be able to do this one must engage in conversation with them and spend quality time with them.

When children are growing up, their mind is full of confusion, conflict, doubts, anxiety etc. If parents are able to get the child to express all this openly through effective communication with him or her, the child gets a channel to be able to express their case and would be more receptive to advise from parents. Parents in such case should let the child know that it is common for every one to go through growing pangs when they are growing and that this is a normal phenomenon.

The responsibility of creating and opening up the communication channel with the child rests upon parents. Unless and until they create the right environment at home and get their child to express himself, they cannot really help the child but be mute spectators and watch. The parent has to extend the hand of support and only when the child feels safe will he reach out to hold parents hand.

You can be fabulous on winter, just wear your best mens sweater or petite sweaters.

The Importance of an Open Communication Between Parents and Children

Growing children often find it hard to communicate and talk to their parents. It is very necessary that the parents keep the line of communication open with children and avoid any generation gaps. Where there is no communication and interaction, the children develop aggressive streaks in their behavior and this is very evident.

To children, parents are akin to gods. They are the source of love and care. They are the ones that children can confide in and will not be let down. No wonder that children look up to their parents and depend upon their love and support.

What do children look for? They just want to be loved at all times. Even when they make a mistake they confide in parents because in parents they find the unconditional support and love at all times, no matter what you do. The children derive great emotional strength with the knowledge that they can confide in their parents at all times.

If your child is behaving aggressively and throwing tantrums, you can be sure that he is asking for attention and wants to be loved. But the lack of communication is causing him to behave aggressively. At such times his need for support is grater than at other times.

The growing up years is often very painful and stressful for children. They suffer from self-doubt, identity crisis and it takes a little while for them to get adjusted with the outside world and find their footing. They try to project a confident self to the outside world and suffer from uncertainties within.

If you develop an atmosphere at home that is open, jovial and communicative, then you will find that the children prefer to enjoy doing things with you at home and this can keep them away from unwanted elements outside. You can build such an atmosphere only when there is a healthy exchange of ideas and open communication.

Growing up years are often very painful for children as they learn to make the transition from a child to an adult. This phase is fraught with self-doubt, identity crisis, unexplained anxiety and fears etc. The only emotional anchors for them are parents where they can express their fears freely and get useful advise and support. But to be able to get the child to communicate with parents, it is essential for parents to create a suitable environment at home. Parents must let the child know that this is only a growing phase that every body goes through this phase and it will soon pass.

Communication no doubt is a two-way channel. But with children who are going through adolescence, the parents have to often take that extra effort to build a communication channel with the child and create that security blanket so that the child is able to pour out his woes and seek support from the parents. He is then more likely to be receptive to the parent's advice. Children will be children; adults have to take the lead in extending the hand for the child to hold.

Children's Rights

Kids are just so adorable. They can brighten up one's day that even Jesus loved them so much. Having a child of our own is one of the most beautiful thing that could ever happen in our life because kids inspire us to be a better person than we already are. They test our limits, our self-control and patience; in short they simply bring out the best within us. They are one of the best gifts we can ever receive that is why we need to take care of them.

Feeding, clothing and educating them is not only our responsibilities as parents but it is also our responsibility to ensure their safety and their happiness. It cannot be denied that there are less-privileged children all around the world. And why is this happening? Is this because the parents of these children are not aware of their responsibilities for these precious little ones? Or is simply because they neglected them?

There are so many issues about children these days from child molestation to child trafficking. And the government are making sure that these are addressed and there are also many non-government organizations which are focused on helping these kids find a brighter life either by giving them a foster family or by trying to resolve the problem in the family. The important thing is that our society nowadays are helping the children and making sure that their rights and welfare are taken care of.

Providing a safe and secure home is one of the most important thing a parent should look into once a new member of the family arrives. A clean and child-friendly room must be ready once the child is brought home. The children's room does not have to be decorated with expensive things but it does not mean that it should also look ugly. You can decorate it with inexpensive stuff like alphabet letters sticker. It is cheap but good enough to brighten up a child's room. It is not only for the purpose of beautifying the room but it is also the first step of introducing the alphabets to the child.

This way the child can identify the alphabet letters even at an early age. You can also print out pictures of different animals and have it framed. You can point out each animals to the kid and its spelling. Kids love to hear an adult's voice and singing the alphabet to them in a soft voice is a loving and educational way that is beneficial to the baby both mentally and emotionally.

Confused as to how to decorate your children's room? You can purchase a cheap alphabet wall art and use it as a decor as well as a way to teach them the letters of the alphabets. Your nursery wall art does not have to be expensive you just have to have a great imagination to make it work for you.

The Benefits of a Professional Housekeeper

Overview
In today's insanely busy world, most people do not have the time -- not to mention the energy -- to keep up with their house work. A housekeeper is the answer for many otherwise-occupied professionals.

What is a Housekeeper?
A housekeeper is a professional domestic, who takes care of household tasks from cleaning and laundry to running errands and cooking. Some people are affluent enough to afford full-time housekeepers, but many in the middle class prefer to have someone who works for them part-time. A housekeeper employs various skills to help maintain cleanliness and make the residence inviting and comfortable for both the residents and visitors.

What Do Housekeepers Do?
Housekeepers keep the residence clean, neat, and tidy. They perform all regular cleaning tasks like vacuuming, washing floors, dusting, and cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, and they also take on some of the more occasional tasks such as cleaning ovens or refrigerators, organizing closets, and washing windows.

Additionally, housekeepers take care of the household's laundry -- including linens. Many housekeepers cook for the homeowner, leaving prepared meals that just need to be reheated. Light errand running -- such as grocery shopping or taking care of dry-cleaning -- may also be included as part of a housekeeper's job assignments.

What are the Benefits of a Professional Housekeeper?
A professional housekeeper takes care of all of the little things that make a house into a home. The hustle and bustle of the world means that many people simply do not have the free time to take care of much more than the basic household tasks, which means homes do not get thoroughly cleaned, meals are grabbed on the go or consist of take-out from the local drive through, and residences are just places to sleep and store clothes.

Hiring professional housekeepers -- whether full- or part-time -- can be a wise investment in one's comfort and sanity. With such a person in one's employ, you no longer need to be embarrassed by a messy or dirty home or stress over the household cleaning that you simply do not have the time to tackle. You will not be spending your waking hours struggling to keep up with the household laundry or running the never-ending errands.

Instead, you can come home to a place where you want to be; where you are not concerned about your friends seeing a bit of dust or commenting on the lack of contents in your refrigerator.

A professional housekeeper provides a valuable service to their employers, creating a comfortable living environment and offering peace of mind.

Finding the Right Housekeeper For You and Your Family

Searching for a capable housekeeper who can become a welcome and functioning part of your family may seem like a daunting job, but there are several approaches that can make the process much easier. Initially, you need to decide between hiring an agency and paying its higher fees or looking around for yourself. Word of mouth is always useful because your friend can often also give a reference for the person being mentioned. The Yellow Pages list cleaning services as do online sites. You can also try the classifieds, both in the local papers and online. A local college may have students looking for part time jobs that will fit your needs and schedule.

Once you have a name, a telephone interview will help you decided whether this person is worth pursuing. At this time, set up a visit to your home and prepare yourself for a serious, in depth interview. Since misunderstandings are most apt to occur over lapses in communication, it is important to be very thorough about your expectations. You might want to develop a job description that you can use as a tool during the interview process. It should include the schedule, specific responsibilities, house rules and standards, and of course, salary and benefits. A walk-through of your house and discussion of your expectations will be useful. Keep a notepad to jot down answers to your questions to aid your memory and avoid further confusion or misunderstanding later.

Because you will be giving a virtual stranger access to your family and your property, it is important to be thorough in checking references. Ask for 3-5 both personal and professional and from non-relatives. When you go over the work history, now is the time to ask about work gaps or unexplained circumstances. Since your safety and security are paramount, you may want to also do a credit and criminal background check. A housekeeper who is unwilling to share information is definitely a red flag, having said that the interview should not feel like an inquisition. Be friendly and respectful or you may drive a potentially great housekeeper right back out your front door.

When you follow-up on references, ask the key question, "Would you hire this person to work for you again?" You can learn volumes by this simple little question, and while many people would be reluctant to speak negatively about a former housekeeper, they almost always will answer this truthfully. A follow-up "Why" or "Why not" should give you more useful information.

Finally, once the responsibilities and costs have been agreed upon, everything should be written into a clear, easy-to-understand contract. Include specifics such as days and hours scheduled, holidays, a detailed list of services expected, a date for performance review, who provides the cleaning supplies, and the payment agreed upon. Once you and your new housekeeper sign this contract, each of you should keep a copy for future reference.

If you have done your preliminary work correctly, you should have relatively short adjustment period and a long, wonderful relationship with a terrific housekeeper who will improve the routine of your life immeasurably.

Why Domestic Staff Can Improve Your Lifestyle

The tradition among middle and upper class families of employing domestic staff to do household chores goes back hundreds of years or more, and offer great time-saving value to their employers who are busy attending to their jobs, travelling, or attending business interests. In some societies such as in England during the Edwardian era, the grooming and apprenticeship of domestic staff was elevated to a complex, perfectionist art with strict rules of conduct.

All servants had specific duties, such as doing the laundry, taking care of the elderly, running errands, cooking, setting the table in the proper order, dusting the furniture, cleaning the kitchen and bathroom among other duties, sometimes assigned by gender. A butler and a family chauffeur were functions done only by men, while child-rearing duties were only done by females.

Most domestic staff around the world usually had little or no legal protection, typically being treated as only slightly above slave labour without regard to hours worked or wages paid, their lives being at the mercy of their domestic employers. During the early twentieth century in industrialized countries, many people organized and began demanding better working conditions for domestic workers, which were improved in many countries, but in some countries things are still done the old-fashioned way.

Virtually all the domestic staff work in some countries is done by immigrant labour, as the local population is unwilling to do it. In other countries the income level between urban and rural inhabitants is so great that urban families will hire rural migrant labourers to do domestic work.

Toward the middle of the twentieth century and beyond, domestic staffing agencies evolved to screen domestic staff applicants to make sure they were able to do typical assigned duties, and were then sent to families as temporary workers. This served a double purpose of offering a prospective family a worker that was capable of doing whatever the family wanted, plus the domestic staff worker would receive a fixed wage and fixed number of hours during the time they were employed. It also offered legal protection to both parties since either could report any wrongdoing by the other to the staffing agency. It also required the family to notify the agency in advance if they wanted to change the work agreement, such as extended hours or different days of employment.

Hiring a domestic staff is something more than hiring someone to mow the lawn or clean the bathrooms. You are hiring someone to come into your home and to work and live amongst your family.

Quick Guide to Transcription Files and How to Access Them

Most people would love to work in the general transcription field because of the perks they can get. Not only will they have the chance to work at home, but they would be able to take care of their families as well. On top of that, they don't have to deal with issues like commuting to work. These people are welcome to work for transcription companies; it's too bad that some are hesitant because they are intimidated by transcription files and other technical aspects of the job as well. There is no need to be anxious because it's easy to figure out how to deal with these issues.

If you are working for a transcription company, you may not need to do anything because some would have built-in systems they would rather use. There are cases when you have to deal with it on your own. Even then, transcription file types are easy to grasp. The different file types are due to the difference in software or the actual recording devices used by clients. Some would even deliberately convert the format based on their file size preference. If you have accessed various audio files before, you might notice that there is a difference in the quality of the audio sound.

The most common format being used is.wav or WAVeform file. The quality is usually superb since it is dubbed as a lossless audio file type. The downside to this kind of transcription file is the size. Since there is no compression, the file size can be too big for e-mails. In the past, these are sent out through snail mail because it will be placed in a CD. With the advancement of digital technology, they are now sent through virtual storage disks. You would basically have to be online because as you are working, the transcription files will be downloaded in the background.

If you prefer to get a smaller file size, you can ask for the files to be sent via.mp3 format. Also known as MPEG-1 Audio Layer 3 file, it is far smaller than.wav files. The quality is compromised in this format so you might find it a little harder to transcribe compared to the first choice. It is useful if the files are more than 1 hour long because it would take you less time to download. Aside from the usual virtual drive, this can also be sent through e-mail attachments.

Once you have received these audio files, you have to find a good player that can open them. The most popular file formats can be accessed by the player that was bundled with your operating system. You can also use players released by Quicktime and Real. The only problem they may have is the lack of transcription support. You may find it hard to slow down the speed of these audio files when you are transcribing. You can look for free transcriptions if your typing speed is a little slow. They are filled with features that can make it easier for transcriptions like you.

And because the Internet is now playing a vital part in the corporate world, courses such e-commerce and online advertising are now being integrated as part of entrepreneur training.

Entrepreneur training courses are usually offered in most colleges and universities. While this may be the case, more and more budding entrepreneurs are opting for online entrepreneur training courses instead of the conventional training facilities. One of the main reasons for this trend is because unlike enrolling in training courses the traditional way, many of these online courses are offered free of charge. Do You Have a Hobby? A Specialist Job? Think About Telling the World About It - And Making Extra $$

I had just demanded a $77 refund from (yet another) rip-off scheme I had fallen into, and came across this company completely by accident. I was in a desperate situation - I had to get something set up for my future, as right now, I am closing my bricks and mortar store, and I'm too old and cranky to go back to work in the crappy US corporate world. (Not like there's any jobs for me anyway).

I have had many websites, all unsuccessful. Why? Because, I knew nothing about the mechanics of building a website, I knew no HTML, and I hadn't got the vaguest idea what SEO and keywords and all the rest of that stuff were, and none of those previous companies had bothered to enlighten me.

The thing about this company is that they show you how to do absolutely everything, and very importantly, in what order to do it. They have a wonderful group of folks who, via their excellent forums, will tell you how to do anything you are stuck on, and give advice 24/7. If you're a newbie like I was only three months ago, you will ask a lot of questions! It doesn't matter.

There are absolutely NO hidden costs, unless you want them to coach you, which really is totally unnecessary if you follow their guidelines. They will even build your site for you, if that's what you want. I didn't have the money but luckily I had plenty of time to learn.

I did weeks of research before I signed up at the end of May 2010. They offered a seven day money back guarantee, and still do, and now, even if you are just thinking about signing up, they will give you access to their forums (but you can't post any questions). They will register your dot com name for you, but only AFTER you have used all their wonderful tools to research the 'niche' that you have chosen. It would be pointless, after all, to write hundreds of pages about a subject that could not produce any income.

If you want to start a website about cars, for example, they will steer you away from that generalization, because 'cars' is far too big of a subject to 'win' within a 'niche'. Say you really only like, for example, Mini Coopers, then with their research tools you will be able to see whether that niche is winnable and monetizable (able to make you money from advertising, which is added much later). They give you all the right research tools and teach you to use them, to make informed decisions.

They will even split the annual cost into monthly payments, because the economy sucks so much. I will tell you this, prepare yourself for a huge amount of learning, this is more like a college course that you can do at your own pace! It was hard at times for me, but I really enjoyed it, and have learned a LOT!

My.com name was registered, and paid for by them, in my name, on 6/5/10 and I have worked very hard on it. I went from #15,000,000+ in Alexa rankings to, today 9/07/10, #288,981.

They also stress that, #1, your website should be about something you love, know very well and are passionate about, and #2, you will NOT start making money straight away, very few do. I have to build more quality pages, get more backlinks and in a matter of months I will start making a nice income. I am very confident about that.

Many owners are making wonderful incomes - I mean thousands of dollars a month, but this comes from building links, and building pages of quality content that people are interested in, and that offer useful Search Engine-friendly information. Monetizing is the LAST thing you do, after building a steady flow of traffic. Many of the success stories come from people who have had their sites for at least a year. The internet is fast, but it does take time, work and patience.

Believe me, if you want to start something now, that after a few months will be making you money, each and every month, I can't recommend this highly enough. Even if you only have an hour a day to spare, make this your new hobby.

Only four months later, I know about SEO, link-building, correct article writing to include Google friendly keywords, and I have even learned a lot of simple HTML (not necessary with this system, but I love to learn). I have added a blog which took less than 5 minutes, and am soon to add an ezine. I have learned lots about Google Adwords and Affiliate Marketing too.

I can honestly say this is the best thing I have ever spent $29.99 a month on, and in less than a year's time, I will have built at least one more site, and be enjoying consistent passive income. It will be a breeze the second time around!

If you are looking for a Home Based Business and have the patience to wait, the ability to work hard and learn, and can follow instructions precisely, you will be well-rewarded. This is my Social Security.

Take control of your future and start now!

Good Luck!

How Do I Start a Money Making Blog?

You will find that a money making blog is the way to gain attention. Consumers are tired of the same old hype all the time. They have become oblivious to it so you need to incorporate a strategy for reaching them that works well. Your blog is a way for you to share information with consumers. Then you can build a strong relationship with them along the way.

With your money making blog, you want to post new information for them several times a week. The goal is to keep people interested so post frequently. Keep in mind that the quality of what you post is also important. You do not want them to lose interest early on because you are not keeping them inspired.

You can add personal touches with your money making blog. In fact, one of the reasons people like them is that they are down to Earth. They also give an inside look at the owner of the business in a way you can not get from a sales letter. Do not be shy to let your personal side come out in your postings.

While you do have that freedom, your money making blog should also be something that has correct spelling and grammar offered. Otherwise, it can reduce the level of credibility that you have. When you are posting information that is your opinion instead of a fact, make sure you clarify that too. Your blog is a powerful tool so make sure you are using it to gain the attention of your target audience.

Will Working From Home Work for Me?

The Internet seems to be flooded these days with various "work from home" offers. But, are they right for you?

Of course, there is nothing new about working from home, either part-time or full-time. Many highly successful businesses started in someone's kitchen or garage.

What are some of the advantages of working from home? Well, when you work for a boss, the boss decides how much you get paid. But if you work for yourself, you will get rewarded for the amount of time and effort that you put into your business.

You save time, because you don't have to travel to work each day.

And you will save money on fuel for your car, parking fees or public transport costs.

You might also save more money on the cost of take-away or canteen food.

You will probably be working in a more pleasant environment, since you chose the location of your house, perhaps near the sea or on a farm, instead of in the middle of a busy city.

And, of course, another big benefit is that you can spend more time with your family.

What are some of the disadvantages of working from home? Well, you will miss some of the office gossip! Although the use of computers and mobile phones probably means that you won't miss too much these days!

There are obviously some disadvantages in not being able to talk to people face to face and share ideas. However, video conferencing can help to overcome this problem.

The main requirement for someone who wants to run a successful home-based business is DISCIPLINE. Although you will feel more relaxed at home than in a city office, you need to set aside a certain amount of time to do your work, preferably in a separate office.

A good idea is to dress for work, as if you were going to an office in the city, instead of putting on casual clothes. This helps to put you in the right frame of mind for working.

And you will need the cooperation of your family in ensuring that there are few distractions during your working day.

The Secret Small Business Opportunities Online Few People Know About

I am often asked if there are any small business opportunities online left out there.

People seem to think that everything has been tried. There are tons of secret opportunities. Why are they secret?

I will answer with a question. Have you ever been sent into a room to find something, let's say a salt shaker and you can't find it even after someone comes in to tell you it is right in front of your nose?

We tend to overlook the obvious. Car crash victims report that the other car "came out of nowhere". Sir Arthur Conan Doyle wrote a great fiction story around the exact same phenomenon. His hero: Sherlock Holmes. The book title was The Purloined Letter. Basically, people couldn't find a letter they were convinced was hidden. It lay for days on a table in plain sight.

What does Sherlock Holmes and car wrecks have to do with small business opportunities online?

Assumptions. People don't see an opportunity right in front of their eyes. Yes, like the salt shaker.

So, what is the best small business to start? The affiliate business. I won't go into it here. It will be the subject of another article.

Here are just a few of the "secret" markets out there that can be mined on the internet:

  1. Open a rental agency in Tuscany, Italy because you are sick of the rain and cold where you are.
  2. You love kids, but are sick of teaching? Build a site on kids' birthday party ideas.
  3. Love network marketing, but your relatives and neighbors are getting rude about any more "shows"? Build a booming online network marketing site.
  4. You're a laborer on an asphalt laying crew, love the smell of the stuff and the end product but you are sick of layoffs and bosses? Build a web site selling asphalt repair materials, asphalt machines, anything to do with asphalt.
  5. Computers are your thing? Build an expert site on XP. Sell cheap computer parts. Sell courses, software, peripherals and so on.
  6. A hair dresser can open her own hair care site.
  7. Become a web master. It is much easier than you think and the demand is incredible.
  8. If audio is your passion, create a site on all things audio.
  9. Health Juicers? Can't go a day without your favorite vegetable brew? Build a site on that.

In conclusion, the list of "secrets" and dream businesses is as varied as the types of people reading this article. There are no limits and no market is saturated. The AFFILIATE SMALL BUSINESS model makes it all safe, simple and easy.

Christian Boundaries - 7 Reasons Why Setting Boundaries Is Difficult for Christians

Having good Christian boundaries is something we need to work on all the time in every area of our lives, yet setting boundaries isn't easy and is a cause of confusion in our relationships. These are the seven reasons why it is difficult for many Christians to set boundaries:

  1. We feel responsible for other people's choices.
  2. We are afraid of losing the other person's approval.
  3. We are afraid of losing the relationship.
  4. We are afraid of the person's reaction and retribution.
  5. We don't really know what we want and need.
  6. We believe we shouldn't have boundaries, because the Bible tells us we have to give up our rights in relationships.
  7. We believe we should adjust and compromise to keep the peace to be Christ-like.
A boundary is simply what you will and won't do. It is not about making someone do what you want. You can state what you want, need, or prefer someone to do and what you will or won't do in response, but it is the other's person's right to choose whether or not he/she will do what you have asked. You cannot control the person's choice. We won't be able to set strong boundaries in our relationships until we work through each of these 7 reasons why it is difficult to set boundaries.

A woman I know has recently discovered her husband was having an affair. She knows that the affair is unacceptable but she is struggling with setting boundaries on reconciling the relationship. She is clear on some of her needs but then is confused when her husband refuses to meet those needs, as she wonders if she is being reasonable or unreasonable and then gets fearful of his reaction and whether pushing a particular boundary will result in the loss of the marriage. She is also struggling with what she believes to be God's desire for her to forgive and to sacrifice to keep her marriage together. She will need to confront these seven reasons that make setting Christian boundaries difficult in order to deal with this problem.

Christian Boundaries - 10 Truths About Boundaries In Relationships

Christian boundaries are a source of confusion for many Christians, especially when they are in difficult relationships. We wonder what a boundary is. We wonder if we have the right to set boundaries. We wonder what our boundaries should be. We wonder if we should adjust our limits when people refuse to respect the boundaries we have. We wonder what other people would do in a similar situation. We wonder why we need boundaries. We wonder if our boundaries will be challenged. We wonder what kind of boundaries God would want us to have. In order to strengthen our boundaries, we need to embrace these 10 truths about boundaries:

1. Boundaries are simply limits that define what you will and won't do.

2. Boundaries are not about making the other person do what you want them to do.

3. Boundaries are how you define what you are responsible for and not responsible for.

4. Boundaries are not only your right; they are your responsibility.

5. Boundaries are not unchangeable; you can change your boundaries to fit changing circumstances, but you should only adjust your limits if it is a compromise that you are willing and able to live with.

6. It doesn't matter what another person would do in the same situation, because boundaries are your own specific limit and are not a matter of what is right and wrong.

7. Boundaries are a means of defining who you are.

8. Boundaries are a means of gaining power over your own life.

9. Your boundaries are going to be challenged and will require you to stand firm in your convictions.

10. Jesus had strong boundaries. God wants our boundaries to make a stand for what is right and against what is wrong.

You are a steward over your own life and you will give an answer for how you lived it (Matthew 12:36). Embracing these 10 truths about Christian boundaries in relationships will empower you to live your life the way you truly want to.

Overcome Christian Codependency By Learning How To Take Care Of Yourself

You can overcome Christian codependency by learning how to take care of yourself. Christian codependency promotes misconceptions about when God thinks it is okay to put yourself before others. We have to care about ourselves and others. One of the best ways to determine if you should put someone else's request or need before your own is to consider your motive. Here are some reasons you might be compelled to neglect your own needs for someone else's:

  • Obligation - You believe you have to.
  • Guilt - You will feel bad.
  • Fear - You are afraid of the repercussions
  • Pride - You want people to think well of you.
  • People-pleasing - You fear disapproval.
  • Obedience - You believe God wants you to.
  • Choice - You want to.

Obligation, guilt, fear, pride, and people-pleasing have something in common: They are all unhealthy reasons. Rather than making the right choice for you, you allow yourself to be influenced by others. It isn't what you really want to do and the outcome is typically resentment.

Second Corinthians 9:7 says, "Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver" (NIV). Choice allows you to own your decision and prevents you from being resentful.

Obedience to God is the other good reason. We can and should at times sacrificially give when we believe God is directing us and when it involves our witness and the reputation of our faith. I know the times when my selfish nature is fighting with the Holy Spirit to not give in to God's leading to sacrificially give, but this isn't a common occurrence. It can't be all the time or you go back to an unhealthy place where you are neglecting yourself.

There is a time to put yourself first. If you are in the check-out line at the grocery store, you can occasionally let someone go in front of you, but you can't keep letting one person after another go in front of you or you will never get home to make dinner. There is definitely a time to put yourself before others.

Relationship Prayer: God, help me to recognize my motives when I want to put someone before myself. Help me to do it out of choice and obedience to you.

Relationship Challenge: Pay attention to why you want to put others before yourself. Try to do it of choice or obedience to God.

God cares about your motives. If you do put someone before yourself, He wants it to be for the right reasons. Overcoming Christian codependency helps you to learn how to take care of yourself while still caring about others in ways that please God.

Christian Relationship Help - Fight, Flight, Or Freeze Responses To Fear In Difficult Relationships

This Christian relationship help will enable you to identify these three responses to fear in difficult relationships: fight, flight, or freeze. Each results in different problems in the relationship.

1. Fight

Many of us respond to fear and anxiety by trying to force solutions. We confront the person and demand change. We intervene to manipulate things so they go the way we want them to. We fix, nag, reason, threaten, argue, and intervene. This makes us feel like we are producing change, but we are focusing our energy on changing the other person when we should be focusing on changing ourselves.

2. Flight

Others respond to fear by fleeing with avoidance and denial. Whether it is by over-focusing on other things, engaging in addictions of our own, or sticking our heads in the sand, we refuse to face issues and rarely confront. This results in our ignoring things to our own peril. We don't do what we need to do to protect ourselves or to deal with things before they get so bad that it comes crashing down around us. Other people will also get frustrated with us, because they will try to get us to see the truth and we stubbornly hang on to our denial.

3. Freeze

Some of us experience freeze. This happens in our dreams where you are unable to run or flee. People in difficult relationships often shut down in response to abuse, anger, confrontation, trauma, and stress. They report not being able to think momentarily and not being able to respond. This typically results in their being unable to protect themselves at all, as they do not fight or flee, they just respond passively to whatever is happening and feel like perpetual victims.

The three responses to fear in difficult relationships, fight, flight, or freeze, are instinctual and protective, but we need to learn to deal with our problems and people by facing our fears. Joshua 1:9 says, "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go" (NIV). Apply this Christian relationship help to understand how the three responses to fear in difficult relationships keep us from dealing with things as we should.

Relationship Prayer: God, help me to learn how to respond to fear by facing it instead of fighting, fleeing, or freezing.

Relationship Challenge: Identify whether you fight, flee, or freeze in response to fear. Purpose to change your response by facing your fears.

Christian Relationship Help - Accept The Things You Cannot Change And Make Choices With The Options By Karla Downing

This Christian relationship help will enable you to accept the things you cannot change and make choices with the options you have. The key to surrender is accepting the facts of the situation.

While I was in Hawaii on vacation, a three-year-old girl was in the Jacuzzi. Her mom was standing on the side, telling her she only had five more minutes to be in there. When the five minutes were up, the little girl began to whine for more time, bargaining for just three more minutes. The mom did the obligatory explaining, arguing, pleading, and threatening while counting "1, 2, and 3 is coming. I am almost there. Don't make me get you out. I won't be happy." The little girl continued to argue and cry saying, "I don't want to get out!" Finally, the exasperated Mom said, "It isn't your choice anymore." The little girl responded, "But, I want choices! I want to stay in!" The mom finally resorted to pulling her out of the Jacuzzi, as she protested with tears. The little girl did have a choice, obey her mom or not; get out or be pulled out. She didn't have a choice to stay in.

We are like that little girl. We don't like the choices we have in our lives, so instead of dealing with reality, we waste our energy arguing with God about what He has allowed in our lives. We argue with the people in our lives that we want to be different and try to force them to change. We refuse to accept reality and make choices with the options that are available to us. Instead, we want something that doesn't exist. While we are doing this, we are wasting time and energy. When we don't like our choices, we fight with the circumstances and try to force them to change, instead of making the choice that is before us. We stay stuck. Applying this Christian relationship help will enable you to accept the things that you can't change and choose between the choices you have enabling you to make progress in areas you have been stuck in.

Where are All the REAL Men and REAL Gentlemens Clubs?

"Hey Stan, me and some of the other guys are going to a Gentlemens Club and want you to come along. Just note, saying no is not an acceptable response."

Such were the ramblings of a young man who thought I, like a lot of other men around us on that same work project, would jump at the chance for this kind of night out with the boys.

Knowing he wasn't familiar with my message that teaches all about being a REAL man in a playBOY world, I just laughed at him, said no thanks, and then politely directed him to my website. Although he never asked again, I couldn't just let his question go.

So I went there!

No, not the Gentlemens Club!

I went to that place in my mind that attempts to make sense of a commonly accepted term that has no rational explanation for why it is so commonly accepted.

Gentlemens Club!

When I think of the word "gentlemen", I never associate it with a smoke-filled room full of men drowning in a sea of flesh, being enticed to accept a cheap imitation for the gift of human sexuality.

The word GENTLEMEN to me is a word about being noble and respectful. It speaks of one who gives honor and bears the trademark of not demeaning in value the worth of another.

When we're talking about men and their ideas about love, sex and relationships, "Where are the REAL Men and Real Gentlemens Clubs?," I found myself asking.

Wouldn't it be great to have a club where REAL men go to:

  • Encourage each other to see women as more than full-of-brandy-eye-candy and toys-for-boys
  • Inspire one another to be men of commitment and live out their sexuality for LEG-A-CY, not how much LEG-I-SEE
  • Better follow the longing of the heart to be wanted for a lifetime of nights and not just a night of a lifetime
  • Remind one another that sex is LESS ABOUT RELEASE and MORE ABOUT EMBRACE
  • Help each other remember that SMUT spelled backwards is TUMS
  • Grow in understanding that it is called PLAYBOY because it appeals to men who still play BOY with adolescent attitudes about women as sex objects
  • Challenge each other with the reality that we are DESIGNED FOR DESIRE, but we also DESIRE FOR DESIGN
  • Help each other see that the greatest needs of humanity are relational and spiritual - NOT SEXUAL
  • Instruct one another in the truth about how 90% of couple-relating takes place OUTSIDE THE BEDROOM
  • Remind one another that the emptiest people are those living their lives for the moment and missing the lifetime

Now, that's the type of Gentlemens Club this loving husband and father would be most happy to go to with the guys. I think guys could learn a lot about being a man in this type of environment. How about it men, care to come along?

Building a Stronger Relationship Over Time

Relationships grow and survive on communication and respect. They are like tender plants that need to be nurtured and grown into beautiful plants. In the din of every day life we often forget to pay attention to our relationships unless and until some crisis develops and we find that we have lost out on communication altogether. Go through the tips given below and practice them every day to build stronger relationships that last a lifetime.

1. Keep your communications going with all members in your family. It is important that you keep one to one communication constantly with all the members in your family including your mom, dad, sisters, grand parent, spouse, kids including extended family and your in laws. Healthy relationships are good for the well being of the entire family.

These are your supports in life and stand by you in times of crisis or joyous occasions. Be it weddings, birthdays or funerals, your family is the one that gets involved.

2. One other relationship that matters to you most outside of your immediate family is with your friends. Your friends are for a lifetime. Where ever they are and however they are as compared to your, it does not really matter because nothing comes in between your friendship. You should make time to spend quality time with your friends even if it is once a year. These relationships are for a lifetime and matter most to you.

Communicating with your friends and staying in touch with them via telephone or emails and exchanging information on what is happening with each other gives you immense happiness and strengthens the relationship. All it needs is very little time and keeping communication going.

3. Make life interesting for yourself as well as for others in your family. Do not forget birthdays and anniversaries and bring them gifts for the occasion. To gift something to some one you do not really need occasions. Spring surprises on people by bringing them flowers or gift them a book or take them out for a movie and treat or simply surprise them by coming home early one day.

These small little gestures can bring a smile on their faces and watching their eyes shine bright with joy and happiness gives you a lot of satisfaction. Relationships are meant to be loved and nurtured.

Hard times do come but then they do not last. However what help you to withstand the hardships is the strength of your relationships and the support of your family backing you during your hard times. Life is short and hence it is important that you remember to maintain your relationships and tell them that you love them everyday.

Managing Your Relationships Successfully

Caught up in the buys lives, we forget or take for granted our relationships with our family and loved ones. While relationships thrive on communication and attention, we seem to forget to communicate and take people for granted unless and until we face a situation, which makes us realize this fact. Let it not be too late that the bridges are burnt. Adapt these tips in your life and learn to manage successfully your relationships.

1. As a member of the family, you have a relationship with every individual. Therefore it is important that you maintain a one to one relationship with all the members including your parents, brothers, sisters, kids, spouse including in laws and extended family. Keeping continuous communication going with each member is good for the well being of all in the family.

Remember always that these are the people who matter to you most and stand by you. They are there to celebrate each and every occasion be it a birthday party or wedding anniversary. They are beside you at funerals too.

2. Outside of our immediate family, the people who matter most are our friends. Our friends whom we grew up are never forgotten wherever they are and however they are. Friendships that are formed in childhood last a lifetime. But then you would need to take time to find your friends and keep in touch with them.

Spending quality time meeting your friends once in a while is very good for your health as it makes you very happy. In day-to-day life you can always take off a few minutes to catch up with a friend over the phone or via email to say hello and find out how he is doing. Just this communication is enough for friendships do not require much to be spoken.

3. You need not keep showing your family that you care for them only by words, but show them by deeds to. Very simple and mundane things can make people happy. When you remember some ones birthday and wish them early morning with a small present or present small gifts like books, flowers without any occasion or in appreciation of some gesture works wonders. You can even take your family out on a dinner followed by long drive or surprise them by taking leave and staying at home to help with cleaning.

You do not have to follow any protocol to show people that you care. Just follow your heart and do things in natural manner. A bit of thoughtfulness and care goes a long way in making others happy as well as making you happy.

Life has its ups and downs. While going is good, you have no dearth of friends and acquaintances; it is during hardships that you really find the strength to go on with the support and backing of your family and your relationships. Time and tide waits for none. As the poem goes, do not waste a single moment to let them know how much you love them.

Relationship and Change

Intimate relationships always start out as deep connections, strong attraction, numerous commonalities, joined activities and interest in each other's lives. Given that's where we mostly enter into a relationship, what happens along the way? The following article will look at the ways in which change affects your relationship and what to do about it.

Simple fact: We change

The longer the relationship lasts, the more we change, and not necessarily in the same direction. Look at children growing up and you can see the changes they are going through just by looking at their physical changes. Think about the miracle of physical growth that happens in the nine months in the womb where a baby grows from a cell to about 50 centimetres of body. Once they are born change continues to happen on a physical level: one minute they are tiny babies, the next they are walking and running around the house and then they are already in school. The years fly by and you blink and you have a teenager in your house who's planning to move our and create their own life.

Even though the physical changes as adults are not as obvious, those which are we fight with creams, exercise or beauty operations. On a physical level it is said that we renew all the cells of our body within a seven year cycle. If your relationship has passed the seven year mark you are literally married to a different person. One of the common relationship complaints is therefore true: 'He/she no longer is the person that I married years ago!'

Facing change

There are a couple of ways in which we can approach change:

1. not at all, ignoring the fact

2. fighting it and or complaining about it or

3. embracing it

There is no easy answer to the question 'what is the right way to deal with change?' however 'embracing it' is definitely my recommendation as the other two options sooner or later will create pain.

Embracing change

Having said that, how do we embrace change in relationships? First of all we need to accept the fact that we both, along with everyone around us, change. This stage of acceptance will be a continuous practice. Secondly we need to communicate with our partner about the effects of change, both in ourselves and the perceived changes in our partner. Without sharing in truth and openness we live with assumptions and unspoken expectations which both poison the connection we have with our partner. The third step is to re-evaluate again and again what we can live with and what not. We might need to re-negotiate our relationship agreements with each other or, if the changes are no longer allowing the union to exist, we need to part our separate ways.

Ask yourself: Is staying with my partner more important and am I able to accept the changes? If the answer is yes - continue, if the answer is no - communicate honestly and take the next step.

10 Tips on Relationship Wisdom

Tip #1 about conflicts:

In disagreements with your loved ones, deal only with the current situation. Don't bring up the past.

Tip #2 about neediness:

Remember the best relationship is one in which your love for each other exceeds your need for each other.

Tip #3 about giving and getting:

Love is experienced in giving. It is by giving that you get.

Tip #4 about mirroring:

Everything that happens in every relationship is about you. If you are willing to listen to what it has to say to you or about you, you will find a gem of wisdom in every interaction.

Tip #5 about triggers:

To be clear: In relationship you will be triggered to feel unpleasant emotions. This is a given. If you allow it, as opposed to resisting it, you are then able to embrace, experience and release the emotion and absorb its learning.

Tip #6 about connection:

Look into your partner's eyes when talking to them. If you truly want to create a deep connection start by looking into the depth of their being with an empty mind

Tip #7 about allowing:

A relationship will challenge you to allow the other person to be who they are and do what they feel is right. If you observe yourself wanting to change the other, stop and breathe - and change YOUR habit.

Tip #8 about honesty:

Be honest in your relationship, first of all, in relation to yourself and then in relation to your partner. Speak the truth about your emotions, your actions and your thoughts. Nothing hurts as much as the energy of a secret lingering between two people which will sooner or later lead to either dissolution of intimacy and connection, or to the time when truth is being revealed.

Tip #9 about intimacy:

Whenever intimacy and sex is fulfilling, the chances of love and a joyful life together are greater. Sexual rapport creates possibility for intimacy and honesty, and a bonding, loving union. You need to transcend your sexual blocks and fears of intimacy and your relationship is the best place to do it!

Tip #10 about letting go:

If you store things up and bring them up every time you and your partner have an argument you are poisoning your connection. Deal with present time issues and let past issues go. If you are having a hard time letting go, find someone that can support you in processing, forgiving and letting go - this is what 'dropping the baggage' means.
