I had just demanded a $77 refund from (yet another) rip-off scheme I had fallen into, and came across this company completely by accident. I was in a desperate situation - I had to get something set up for my future, as right now, I am closing my bricks and mortar store, and I'm too old and cranky to go back to work in the crappy US corporate world. (Not like there's any jobs for me anyway).
I have had many websites, all unsuccessful. Why? Because, I knew nothing about the mechanics of building a website, I knew no HTML, and I hadn't got the vaguest idea what SEO and keywords and all the rest of that stuff were, and none of those previous companies had bothered to enlighten me.
The thing about this company is that they show you how to do absolutely everything, and very importantly, in what order to do it. They have a wonderful group of folks who, via their excellent forums, will tell you how to do anything you are stuck on, and give advice 24/7. If you're a newbie like I was only three months ago, you will ask a lot of questions! It doesn't matter.
There are absolutely NO hidden costs, unless you want them to coach you, which really is totally unnecessary if you follow their guidelines. They will even build your site for you, if that's what you want. I didn't have the money but luckily I had plenty of time to learn.
I did weeks of research before I signed up at the end of May 2010. They offered a seven day money back guarantee, and still do, and now, even if you are just thinking about signing up, they will give you access to their forums (but you can't post any questions). They will register your dot com name for you, but only AFTER you have used all their wonderful tools to research the 'niche' that you have chosen. It would be pointless, after all, to write hundreds of pages about a subject that could not produce any income.
If you want to start a website about cars, for example, they will steer you away from that generalization, because 'cars' is far too big of a subject to 'win' within a 'niche'. Say you really only like, for example, Mini Coopers, then with their research tools you will be able to see whether that niche is winnable and monetizable (able to make you money from advertising, which is added much later). They give you all the right research tools and teach you to use them, to make informed decisions.
They will even split the annual cost into monthly payments, because the economy sucks so much. I will tell you this, prepare yourself for a huge amount of learning, this is more like a college course that you can do at your own pace! It was hard at times for me, but I really enjoyed it, and have learned a LOT!
My.com name was registered, and paid for by them, in my name, on 6/5/10 and I have worked very hard on it. I went from #15,000,000+ in Alexa rankings to, today 9/07/10, #288,981.
They also stress that, #1, your website should be about something you love, know very well and are passionate about, and #2, you will NOT start making money straight away, very few do. I have to build more quality pages, get more backlinks and in a matter of months I will start making a nice income. I am very confident about that.
Many owners are making wonderful incomes - I mean thousands of dollars a month, but this comes from building links, and building pages of quality content that people are interested in, and that offer useful Search Engine-friendly information. Monetizing is the LAST thing you do, after building a steady flow of traffic. Many of the success stories come from people who have had their sites for at least a year. The internet is fast, but it does take time, work and patience.
Believe me, if you want to start something now, that after a few months will be making you money, each and every month, I can't recommend this highly enough. Even if you only have an hour a day to spare, make this your new hobby.
Only four months later, I know about SEO, link-building, correct article writing to include Google friendly keywords, and I have even learned a lot of simple HTML (not necessary with this system, but I love to learn). I have added a blog which took less than 5 minutes, and am soon to add an ezine. I have learned lots about Google Adwords and Affiliate Marketing too.
I can honestly say this is the best thing I have ever spent $29.99 a month on, and in less than a year's time, I will have built at least one more site, and be enjoying consistent passive income. It will be a breeze the second time around!
