Networking Tasks That Are Regularly Performed Incorrectly

Networking is an important part of any business. No matter if you're a small home based business or a large corporation, networking is something you need to do regularly to grow and see success.

There are a number of things you need to do to see success, but at the same time there are ways you can do those things incorrectly and ruin your business. You could still possibly grow, but it won't be as much because the people that see you doing those things incorrectly will not have trust in you.

Here are a few tasks that are performed incorrectly on a regular basis.

1. There are several programs you can use to automate posts for you. While these make things so much easier, it's not the best thing to use. I would recommend using these automated services once or twice a day. The rest of the posts need to come from you.

2. The types of posts you make are also important. It's ok to make posts about your business, but you need to make personalized posts as well. Talking to the people you follow is crucial in the success of your business. Answer their questions, suggest things when they make those types of posts, and be friendly with them. Trust is not built on you always referring your business to others.

3. Don't always use your business as the answer to every question. This is the best way to get tagged as SPAM and have your account suspended. SPAM is something people don't put up with, so if you add a link to every post you make when answering peoples questions or if you suggest they look at your page, your account will definitely be suspended.

4. It's understandable that you're busy between your family and your business, but that doesn't mean you need to network incorrectly when you have time to get on. If you only come on long enough to make a post or two about your business and then you leave not to come back for several weeks, you're going to lose followers real quick. If you have five or ten minutes to be on, you need to make it worth your while. Make as many posts as possible that are personable to your followers and then end your time with a business post of some sort.

Growing your business is what you set out to do every day. Whether you place ads on other sites, use your business cards, or you network your ultimate goal is to grow. If you do any or all of these things incorrectly, you won't see growth. So it's best to do them correctly every time you set out to perform them.
